About the Course

We will show you everything you need to know on the day on the boat & we can arrange a Navigation Refresher Session to help you pass.

The International Certificate of Competence Assessment is an internationally recognised certificate that enables the holder to sail in countries where formal qualifications are compulsory.

You are automatically entitled to an ICC with an Irish Sailing Day Skipper Certificate.

You also need to apply for your ICC from an Irish address.

What is in the ICC Assessment?

Part 1 | Practical Assessment | (Day Skipper level)

  1. Pick up a Mooring Buoy
  2. Come Alongside
  3. Anchoring
  4. Man Overboard Recovery
  5. Sail a triangular course

Part 2 | Written Theory Assessment | (Day Skipper level & higher)

  1. IRPCS (Col Regs)
  2. Identify chart features
  3. Draw a 3-Point-Fix
  4. Course-to-Steer
  5. Determine tide times from a tide table
